There are moments in ministry were I find myself overwhlemed and discouraged.
Most of those moments are when I am looking out over the needs of my neighborhood, and looking down at my volunteer roster.
I sigh and repeat, "the fields are white...but the laborers are few." And I sink down into my defeated pose.
Today the Lord rebuked me as I did that exact thing. "Haven't you read the rest of that verse?" Well, yeah, I had.
"'Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.'"
So many times I've approached our need for leaders with a 'que-sera-that's-just-how-life-in-ministry-is' attitude. And that's not what Jesus expected from me when He said these words.
As if He can't provide for the people He loves. All I have to do is ask.
So I'm asking, Lord. Send them. I need a bunch! I'll share the testimony of Your provision.
